How to Make Private Label Products Your Own
If you want to be involved in internet marketing and don’t have a
product yet, you should learn how to make private label products your
own. They are becoming very popular, and it is very easy to rebrand a
product with your own name and details.
Private label products allow you to sell products that you have not
created yourself as though they were you own work, and selling them is
an easy way to make money since all the hard work involved in developing
a new product is avoided. So what are they?
Private label rights give you the same rights to a product as if it were
your own. Resell rights allow you to sell a product and keep all of your
sales, but you cannot modify it in any way. In fact ordinary resale
rights can limit the number of sales you make, and also do not allow you
pass the resale rights on to your own customers. Master resale rights
have no limits, and you sell at any price from a stated lower limit.
Master resale rights also allow you pass on the resale rights to those
who buy the product, but you cannot sell it as your product.
Private label rights, on the other hand, have no such restrictions. The
item effectively belongs to you, and you can do what you want with it.
You can sell it at any price you want, and, depending on the agreement,
even give it away as a free bonus with another offer. You can also sell
the private label rights to your customer. That is frequently a very
good commercial strategy, but is also one reason why you personally have
to be careful with what private label products you purchase.
A good tip is to Google the title of your projected
purchase and find out how many sites are selling it. If you don’t think
that you could compete against the other websites offering the same
product then don’t purchase it. Many private rights products have been
on sale for a long time, and they are either oversubscribed, meaning
that everybody who wanted it has it, or they have little resale value.
Sometimes you can find a product that has little exposure on the search
engines, and you could sell it virtually as it comes. If your are
interested in this type of product you will frequently come across web
sites offering resale rights on products, and limiting the sale to 200
or 500, but all this means is that you have at least that many others
trying to sell the same product as you. You won’t all get first page on
Google, so you will have to find a way of selling that does not rely on
search engine free advertising. More on that later.
There are steps that you can take to make your private rights product
more sellable. First, change the title. Many people will be trying to
sell the same product using the original title. Not all will fail, but
most will. You are far better to change it. So, tip number one: change
the title.
Tip number two is to change some of the text. You don’t have to totally
rewrite the whole thing, but make some significant changes. Try to find
the keywords on which others are selling it. Once you know these, then
you can search for other keywords that you can sell it on. Make slight
changes to the text in order to change the emphasis, for example this
article is being written on the keyword “Private Label Products” and
“How to make Private Label Products”. Were I to purchase an ebook on
this subject using these keywords, I would switch them to “Private
Rights Products” and “Private Label Ebooks” for example, and try to sell
on these, rather on “private label products” which everybody else would
be doing.
You can find many ways to change keywords, since your products will be
based on many different niches. Use a keyword tool such as Google
Keyword Tool or Digital Rights Solutions to find keywords then check out
Google for the supply for each. That is another subject however, and the
degree of rewriting you do will depend on the keywords you opt for. You
can even rewrite the whole thing, but that’s not always necessary.
Finally, advertise it. You are advised strongly to subscribe to a web
host that allows you unlimited subdomains, then you can park each
subdomain on your main domain and have virtually unlimited websites for
each product you sell. Buy a domain name at less than $10 for each
product, and give each its own domain and virtual website. That’s the
way to market private label products, and don’t forget to insert lots of
viral affiliate links that you can pass on when you sell resale rights! I have recently written a quick and easy guide to
article marketing success, 'Your Article Writing and Promotion Guide'.
